NHK Japan has announced that Doctor Who premieres Monday 25 September at 10PM, with the first 4 episodes airing Monday through Thursday that week, and episodes continuing Tuesdays at 10PM starting 3 October. All 27 episodes from Series 1 and 2 are expected to air on BS-2. |

US SciFi http://www.scifi.com will begin Series 2 with The Christmas Invasion on September 29 after all. They have announced that Doctor Who is getting a 2 hour premiere which includes The Christmas Invasion. It is not clear how they will fill out the 2 hours. Will Christmas Invasion be chopped down to 43 minutes, 37 seconds to give room for New Earth to air afterwards? Will the show air uncut in an extended slot with special Who programming and other commercials to pad out the time? Will they let primetime run to 11:30PM EDT as they have on occasion for extended episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica (unlikely - Doctor Who's an import)? We wait to see what the schedule for September 29 will say when they finally update it. |
Hungarian station RTL Klub http://rtlklub.hu will air Series 1 of Who Saturdays at 3:50PM starting 26 August. Cool TV has previously aired Doctor Who in Hungary twice, but RTL Klub is a more prominent station. If you couldn't get Cool but can get RTL, you now have no excuse not to watch the show. |
